The Thermo Scientific Versa Star benchtop meter with one pH/ISE module, a conductivity module, a DO module, and kit can display pH, mV/RmV, ISE (ion selective electrode), conductivity, resistivity, salinity, TDS, and RDO/DO readings plus temperature on any of four customizable channels, with easy-to-use key layouts and color graphics on the large, backlit, fully customizable LCD for advanced electrochemistry in the laboratory. The meter has four channels that can be configured by selecting from five available modules for pH, pH/ISE, conductivity, RDO/DO, and the pH/LogR module with advanced electrode diagnosis. All five modules measure temperature and can be mixed and matched as needed, with no need to power off the meter. Each channel can store 10 methods for customized procedures to differentiate between tests and/or users. Electrode status, time, date, sample ID, user ID, and calibration points are also displayed with the measurements.The pH/ISE module with temperature provides up to five points of pH calibration, with automatic recognition for USA/NIST and DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) buffers. Advanced ISE features include auto-blank, timed end point, linear point-to-point, non-linear selectable auto-blank, low-concentration range stability, ISE ID, and incremental techniques. Calibration errors can be edited without a complete recalibration. The conductivity module offers conductivity, total dissolved solids (TDS), salinity, or resistivity capabilities. With the conductivity module, selectable reading reference temperatures of 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25 degrees C are available with linear, non-linear, nLFu, or USP/EP curve. Practical salinity or natural sea water curves can be selected for salinity readings. Total dissolved solids (TDS) readings can be taken as linear or ISO/EN 27888 curves. The RDO/DO/temperature module compensates automatically for temperature, salinity with manual input, and barometric pressure (automatic or manual). Calibration can be performed using water-saturated air, air-saturated water, a Winkler titration, or zero point calibration. BOD/DOUR/SOUR readings can be taken when combined with the data analysis software.The meter is designed for ease of use, with clear screen prompts, updateable function keys, and an interface that supports English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Chinese. A pre-programmed auto-read function is available to lock stable readings on the screen, with an indicator alert that signals when the reading is stable. The meter can also be set for manual readings, for timed readings that gather data at specific time intervals, and for continuous updates on the display. Non-volatile memory holds up to 2,000 data points with time and date stamp. With the complimentary data analysis software, results can be transferred to a Windows-based computer and stored, or readings can be displayed in real-time.The Versa Star meter has an IP 54 rating for limited ingress of dust and protection against water splashes.
